Download And Install Adobe Reader

Follow the instructions below to download and install Adobe Reader on a Windows computer.

Before you install, make sure that your system meets the minimum system requirements.

Follow these steps to install Reader using Internet Explorer.

  1. Close all versions of Reader. Close any browser that is displaying a PDF.
  2. Note:

    If you're running Windows 7 or later, install the latest version of Reader. For step-by-step instructions, see Install Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Windows.

  3. Select your operating system, a language, and the version of Reader that you want to install. Then click Download now.

  4. When the File Download - Security Warning dialog box appears, click Run.

  5. When the Internet Explorer - Security Warning dialog box appears, click Run.

    Note: Reader installation is a two-part process: The installer is downloaded and then Reader is installed. Be sure to wait until both parts are complete. A progress bar displays the time remaining.
  6. When you see the confirmation message that the installation is complete, click Finish.

Follow these steps to install Reader using Mozilla Firefox.

  1. Close all versions of Reader. Close any browser that is displaying a PDF.
  2. Note:

    If you're running Windows 7 or later, install the latest version of Reader. For step-by-step instructions, see Install Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Windows.

  3. Select your operating system, a language, and the version of Reader that you want to install. Then click Download now.

  4. When the Opening dialog box appears, click Save File.
  5. When the Downloads window appears, double-click the .exe file for Reader.
    Note: If you don't see the Downloads window, other applications or windows could be hiding it.
  6. When prompted to open the executable file, click OK.

  7. When you see the confirmation message that the installation is complete, click Finish.

Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 is a software application created by the Adobe company in order to read, edit and create PDF documents. PDF files are rich in text and Acrobat Reader 5.0 can help you work with these specific file types. Downloading is relatively easy and works with most standard operating systems. Step 3

Register your installation. Enter your name, address and computer type on the registration form.

  • Operating systems that work with Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 are Windows 95/98, XP, NT, Vista and Windows 7.

  • Downloading Adobe Acrobat 5 through CNET is free and available. Adobe does not offer technical support for Adobe Acrobat 5 anymore, so the company no longer offers the download on its website.
