Just Finished Pokemon Glazed. Looking for something similar

I just beat Pokemon Glazed v7 in the span of 2 days and I'm looking for something just as polished gameplay-wise (solid story/writing is optional but not godawful please).

I thought early game in Glazed was insanely hard but by the time I grinded enough for the first 2 badges I got overleveled for the rest of the game because exp becomes easier to get. (I know there's Blazed Glazed)

I'm looking for something challenging with a good difficulty curve; not dumb grind challenging. I thought Glazed had a bunch of interesting mechanics and features and want a game that spices things up as well. Preferably gen 3 hacks but any gen is fine but no hackmons. Any input is appreciated.
